If you see this works, then it is obviously part of the solution required to reach your goals. However, if you see that there are issues, then you need to re-evaluate to find a solution that is more fitting. Time management is essential, since it demands the person (s) to plan, act on those plans, and stay focused on those goals with motivation in play. You must also keep reality in view, since if you neglect the realness of the world, you will not be prepared when things go wrong.

Disasters such as storms, computer failures, family illness, personal sickness, and so on can happen any time. There is no sense in believing that you are absent from reality. It is always wise to include elements of your time management scheme in accordance with disaster, by thinking critical on the different issues that may arise. For example, if you plan a solution ahead of a computer failure, you will have the tools to continue working while your issue is addressed. Time solution is more than just planning then, it is a solution for planning here, now, and then. When you begin your planning, you should start by analyzing now. Now is in the present and you can see the elements that are needed to achieve your goals? If you know you need a computer to start a business in the next five-years, you should begin setting up a budget for the computer in demand. It is always wise when setting up budgets to open savings or money market accounts that does not take money from you, rather increases your savings by offering a nice interest on your savings. This can help you to reach the goal sooner. Computers are relatively cheaper nowadays, so you will not have to put much focus on this area, unless you intend to purchase a mainframe coupled with another system. Mainframes are expensive pieces of equipment. Next, you can search to find out more information about what is needed to start up a new business. It depends on the type of business you are achieving to reach, but most require desks, computers, pens, paper, cabinets, chairs, and so on. Be sure you add these expenses to your budgeting account. You may also want to include other essentials for starting a business, such as insurance policies, health insurance, and disaster recovery coverage and so on. Open separate accounts for your current financial obligations so that your savings will accumulate and your savings will not be affected. Try to avoid purchasing something that is not needed throughout the course of your time management planning, since this can only delay your progress. If you intend to open a business in five or ten years, make sure you keep this in sight while you work to the main goal laid out in your time management scheme. Time management is working to succeed. If you want to succeed then you must work hard every day to meet your goals.

2. Most coaches have a full-time practice.

Most coaches do their work part-time or integrated into other work such as consulting, training, teaching, workshops, writing, speaking, etc. Coaching clients is part of what they do.

3. Mental health care practitioners don\’t make good coaches.

Oh yes they do! They are incredible listeners and already have many of the basic coaching tools of powerful questioning, sharing observations, speaking the truth, co-creating relationships and come from a place of caring and empathy with their clients. They are way ahead of the game.

4. Coaching ISN\’T consulting.

Certainly it is. It is a form of consulting with additional skill sets learned by training as a professional coach.

5. You have to have certain credentials to be a coach.

This is your choice. Clients aren\’t looking for people with credentials; they want people who get the job done. If you want to go through a credentialing process, you can, but you can be a coach without that as it is a form of consulting – NOT a licensed profession with a lot of regulation.

6. You must belong to a professional trade association to be a coach.

You make your own choice. If you find value, there are organizations you can join. If you aren\’t an organization type person, there is no need to be a part of any coaching organization. Trade organizations are choices individuals make and there is no requirement to belong to any organization.

7. You have to have years of training to be a coach.

There are programs that take into account your college credits, life and work history and then determine what core skills you need to be a coach and some of the programs can be done in less than 8 months!

8. You have to take telephone classes or go to workshops to be a coach.

There are programs that allow you to use your peak adult learning styles, and co-create with a mentor, how you best learn and provide you the opportunity to determine which learning you want to do. For example: research, work experience, community service, reading, attending workshops, training, etc.

9. Coaches get clients because they use the laws of attraction and they don\’t 鈥渟ell鈥?

I bet those coaches don\’t have a lot of clients and don\’t make a six or seven figure from coaching! Everyone in a business that wants to have clients uses the laws of attraction combined with sales. Coaches who make a living from coaching do sell their services and combine the laws of attraction for an inner/outer approach to reaching clients.

10. Coaches focus on word of mouth marketing and that creates a full practice.

I ask you 鈥渨hat is a full practice?鈥?If you want a few clients and to pick up an extra $1-2k a month, rely on word of mouth marketing. If you want to make a six-figure income plus (even only 50k plus!), you\’d better combine word of mouth with Internet, written communication, ads, mailings, publicity, etc.

11. Everyone is a coach.

Come on! We can all think of lots of people who we would not consider coaches鈥? People who aren\’t successful, who are negative, who we wouldn\’t want to give us assistance. No – not everyone has the ability, skill set, or composition to coach others to success.

12. The coaching profession is for people 30-40 years old.

While many coaches fall into that age bracket, retired folks make great coaches and have lots of extraordinary work and life experience.

13. Everyone needs a coach.

I wish everyone the chance to try on coaching and see if they like it and if it is for them. Many people may not feel they need a coach or may not accept coaching or be open to change. Not everyone will need or want a coach.

14. Coaches should develop a specialty niche where there is a need in society.

Instead, they can think about their past career and life experience and the what they are knowledgeable about and coach that area or people in their industry. Forget about what people need and focus on what is easy, effortless for you and where you know the greatest number of people.

15. Coaching is about having a lot of forms, resources and checklists to give clients.

Coaching is a relationship with a client and is client directed so how or why would the coach be giving clients this information? From listening to the clients deeply, the coach will assist the client in identifying client-directed, NOT coach-directed resources.

16. Anyone can make a living at coaching.

Anyone who has coaching skills, previous work/life experience, has a vision and strong desire and passion to coach AND is willing to do some selling blended with the laws of attraction and that is NOT everyone.

Office Chairs and Ergonomics Looks Can Be Deceiving

As I walked into the office warehouse, I was shocked at the number of task office chairs lined up, but even more amazed at how similar in appearance they all seemed, even from up close. With tilt mechanism levers, seat height adjustments features, knobs, levers, etc., they all still looked like a basic seat, seat back, arms and rolling caster wheels. That is until I actually sat down on a few and realized why some chairs do not exactly scream out 鈥?Sit on this 鈥?

That day I compared many different task chairs and started to separate them out into groups in order to arrange them by features, mechanisms and colors. Having worked in the office industry for many years now, I was used to having to actually 鈥済et down to the basics鈥?of an office chair because while they all may look alike, looks can be deceiving. We were currently liquidating an office that was closing and consigning the furniture online for the owners and I marveled at the differences once seated in these chairs.

For example, I took 4 Herman Miller Task Chairs that were up for sale and wrote up a bio on each and of course, took a seat. One of the models was the exact chair that I currently am sitting in at my current workspace and while coincidental, was of course my favorite seat on the warehouse. It was little different in appearance from the other three task seats sitting next to it. All four chairs were upholstered in Burgundy cotton fabric with adjustable arms and rolling casters. All had three levers and a tension knob and although slightly different, looked relatively the same.

However, all of these levers came with a different purpose and it was up to the user to determine which features best suited his or her needs. The everyday medical technician has different ergonomic needs than the average computer programmer and the same can be said for the body positions needed for different tasks and work situations.

For me, spending far too many hours in front of the computer per day and typing away, I require a chair with a very relaxed tilt mechanism that moves with my body, allowing the seat back to move independently from the seat itself and keeping my feet firmly on the floor.

This type of chair with the height adjustments needed for me to be comfortable was perfect in reminding me to keep good posture, which is key for good ergonomics and long-term body health. It is essential to keep in mind that an office chair cannot help you to keep your body healthy, no matter how high end, it is your body that needs to sit properly in order to stay healthy and keep your muscles and back from aching.

For other professions where the positioning is changing constantly throughout the day and mobility is necessary, this may not be the correct chair. When picking your new task office chair, make sure that you consider what you will be using it for the most and for which tasks in order to make sure to get a chair that will fit your comfort ability and enable you to be healthy and productive in the workplace.

Divide each project into small pieces. Every project can be broken sown to small steps. Go ahead and wring a list of tasks that you need to get done in order to complete your project. This way it will be easier to allocate time frames to each of the tasks.

Plan your working time and your breaks. Planning your working time is vital. This way you\’ll know exactly what you need to get done in every day. You should have a plan that will determine what you do in each of your hours at work. You should also plan your breaks. If you do that every day – you\’ll be surprised how much you\’ll get done. Remember Parkinson\’s law: \”every task expands to the time dedicated to it\”. So just make sure you dedicated reasonable time to each task and it will be done in it\’s timeframe.

Do the hardest tasks in your best time of the day. For many people, that\’s the morning time. For others – evening time. What ever time works for you, do your hardest work then. Leave the small and easy tasks to the time in the day in which you are tired and less concentrated.

Use systems and shortcuts. For example, if you need to check your accounts in a few online websites every day, put shortcuts to these websites in your desktop. This way you won\’t have to look for the web addresses of these websites every day. This can save you a few minutes every day, and that accumulates over time.

Reward yourself on a job well done – every time you complete a project or even an important part of a project – remember to reward yourself in some way. This can be watching your favorite TV show, going out to a restaurant, doing something you enjoy, etc. This habit strengthens the linkage between doing a good job and having fun after the job is done. This kind of linkage is very important psychologically.

So, these are just a few examples of how you can manage your time asset correctly and achieve a more productive day. Try implementing these tips in your work, and you will see results almost right away.
